Dianne Postman's Artist Journey

The old masters held a strong fascination from a very young age. Over the years Dianne has attended numerous educational workshops and courses however she is mainly self-taught. In 2019 she received a Diploma in Art from the Stratford Career Institute (distance learning). Dianne is an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, and a member of the West Kelowna Artists.

ARTIST STATEMENT

I spend many hours each week in my home studio, painting and exploring with different mediums. Acrylics are my preferred medium even though I experiment with oils, watercolour, ink, charcoal and pastel.

My favourite subject matter is landscapes and flowers. I often tone my canvases with a vivid magenta colour before beginning a painting. I have a myriad of styles and approaches, which allows me to stay free of a fixed, predictable expression in my work.
